Special Open day/night

At the beginning of every August, the Kiso Observatory holds a special open day for public. In this open day, you can enter the dome of the 105cm Schmidt telescope and see the telescope from up close. In the main building, you can see some measurement machines, poster presentations on our research and activity, and many astromonical pictures with the observatory staffs as guides. We also have a special lecture by astronomer(s) and use a few telescope to show you some astronomical objects at night if it gets clear.

  • You do not need to get appointment.
  • Since we have a parking space, you can reach the observatory by your own car. Be careful of the way to the observatory, because it is very narrow and winding.
  • Only in the clear/fine night, the demonstrative observation will be carried out.

The detail information of the special open day is here (written in JAPANESE).
