The 4th SWIMS Science WS - for SWIMS Open-use Operation as a PI-type Instrument on the Subaru Telescope - was held.

SWIMS, the Simultaneous-color Wide-field Infrared camera and Multi-object Spectrograph for the TAO Telescope, had successfully completed its commissioning observations on the Subaru Telescope from 2018 to 2019. After them, an official decision was made in July 2020 that the SWIMS was served as a PI-type open-use instrument on the Subaru Telescope from 2021 to the end of 2022, until the TAO Telescope is expected to be completed and have a clear prospect for its initial operation.

In response to this situation, we held a Science Workshop to discuss SWIMS science cases on the Subaru Telescope on July 27, 2020. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the WS was held remotely via zoom system. In addition to the status report of SWIMS by Motohara, nine presentations of science cases were made. We had more than 90 participants from not only Japan but also Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium, strongly indicating the high expectations for the operation of SWIMS on the Subaru Telescope.
